Description:   Top slope of the context is level. The soil color is light yellowish brown. The soil compaction is weakly cemented. The soil is poorly sorted. It is silty sand.
Notes:   This context was opened to remove the soil roof above the drainage channel running EW from wall 38 in the SW quadrant of Roman Room C. Hopefully this will imporve our understanding of the drainage channel. Further exploration indicated that the drainage channel does not extend along the entirety og the SW quadrant. But stops short approx 0.95 m from wall 38 and curves to the south. There seems to be no outlet, thus it may be a settling tank. Excavation has stopped in order to open a new context to explore the semi-circular cut that extends beneath the Roman bench.
