Description: | Top slope of the context is level. The soil color is light reddish brown. The soil compaction is loose. The soil is poorly sorted. It is sandy silt.
Notes: | This context was opened to explore the fill of a circular cut into the SW quadrant. There are six other circular/semi-circular cuts in this quadrant and it is thought that they are contemperaneous. This is the smallest of the circular cuts. Small boulders were immediately visible upon initial excavation, however the entire surface seems to be covered by small boulders upon further exploration. This is the only context with small boulders on or near the surface level, however the soil is a similar light reddish brown as a few of the other circular cuts in this quadrant. The soil beneath the stones is more compacted, but the same in color and composition. 5 small boulder sized rocks and two cobble sized rocks were pulled out weighing 24.6kg. Immediately below the aforementioned soil, a possible soil change was discovered. It is clayier with carbon inclusions, and greyish green brown in color. Because of this, a new context (137) was opened to document this change. However, it is possible that the soil change is due to a higher degree of compaction beneath the small boulders and cobble sized stones.
