Description:   The soil color is light pinkish brown. The soil compaction is soft. It is sandy silt.
Notes:   This context is the fill inside the cut for the foundation blocks of the wellhead on the south side. [On the north side, the bedrock was higher and so the foundation blocks were needed on this side to create a level surface for placement of the wellhead.] This fill therefore should be associated with the original construction of the well or perhaps to the later Roman remodeling of the well as part of the mosaic construction.
It is overlay context 238 and 239.
