Notes:   Bone Lot 2015-19
Probably a good portion of the burial in secondary deposit in context 248. Therefore at least the upper parts of this pit/burial have been disturbed.
EMS notes: This is a disturbed burial, part of which was probably encountered higher up. The burial is in a flexed position but mostly not articulated: the tibia and the fibula still line up nicely, but the distal end of the humerus faces north, an unnatural position, in relation to the legs. Only about 20% of the cranial vault remains. With the exception of the tibia and fibula, the bones are very fragmentary. On excavating more of the cranium was found scattered in a halo, E of the topmost cranial fragment. There are voids in the deposit, which suggests that at least some of the burial was laid down articulated and left alone to decompose. Even so, there is further evidence of disturbance - a metatarsal was found at the proximal end of the tibia, etc. It was noted that the bones continue further N than where the original cut was identified. It is uncertain whetere there is a change in deposition, but a new basket (260) was started just in case and accordingly a new skeleton sheet (261).
