Description:   The soil color is brown. The soil compaction is soft.
Notes:   This circular pit seems connected to the construction of well VII, as there is a thin cutting running E-W from it towards the well. This pit was cut into the bedrock likely at this point and then filled when it was no longer needed. Interestingly, it is at roughly 90 degrees to pit 255 and it is very possible that the two were used at the same time as part of a mechanism to dig the wells. The pit cutting was cut by the RT of wall 38.
