Description:   Top slope of the context is slight down to the SE. The soil color is light brownish brown. The soil compaction is firm. The soil is moderately sorted. It is sandy clay.
Notes:   inscription: 81.48 el. [I-2015-1]
This context is a meter wide strip along the E. wall that was distinctive because of its dark soil and compacted and using of cobbles and tiles. IT is roughly linear and Panos thought that is might be an edge/cut along western edge. Right next to the inscription (see plan) to its E. was found a large marble fragment with moulding on one side. The soil on the east side appears to forma line or be 'cut' into the surface associated with the well. This cut becomes clearer below. It is therefore later. We left a small martyr against the east wall. There is a small pit at the south of the context roughly in line with the hypothetical extension of the east-west wall. At the NE corner there is a good cut with the NE end of context 30. Because we have a N-S cut at the bottom of this context that extends under that area of rubble, we are reopening that context to find the end of the cut. We suspect that this cut is for the construction/robbing trench for the Roman east wall/Room C.
