Title:   Clayey fill in eastern section of 4F
Category:   Deposit
Notebook:   1110
Context:   366
Date:   2016/04/13
Stratum:   light yellowish brown silty sand; some large sherds; clay patches; marble pieces
Description:   Top slope of the context is slight down to the S. The soil color is light yellowish brown. The soil compaction is compact. The soil is well sorted. It is silty sand.
Notes:   We open this context to take the now slightly higher fill remaining in the rest of the East-of-well portion of Room 4 Front, which includes the patches of yellowish-green clay floor (?) surface in the west of this area. The fill, apart from the clay patches, is the same light yellowish brown silty sand as many other contexts in this section. The large, horizontal amphora sherds uncovered in Context 357 are removed as part of this context. We also begin to define the foundation trench of the Late Wall in the southern half of the area (and by end of the pass, it has been completely traced). With the removal of this context, we expose a hard-packed brown layer with charcoal inclusions that looks very similar to the layer exposed underneath Context 358 -- a comparison of the bottom elevations for both gives the same level, 81.61. We close this context in order to excavate the foundation trench of the Late Wall.
