We open this context to excavate the foundation trench of the Late Wall at the eastern end of Room 4 Front (i.e., the northern segment of our Late Wall). The fill is generally a yellowish brown silty sand similar to other contexts in the area, but becomes more orangeish or pinkish toward the bottom of the trench, as the soft bedrock of the area is scraped. The fill is also characterized by a very large amount of broken marble pieces (15%?) and chips, as well as large pieces of pottery. We keep a large, more-than-representative but not complete, sampling of the marble in with the pottery. After initial passes, at a depth of ca. 0.20 m, a possible floor surface is found along much of the trench, especially in the southern areas, and the foundation trench itself narrows inward by around 0.25-35 m (see Cut 373). We close when we reach the bedrock / fill with much redeposited bedrock on the bottom of the trench.
