Date:   2016/04/16
Lot:   Lot 2016-005
Stratum:   c. 40% inclusion with small stones and gravel (c.5cm)
Description:   Top slope of the context is slight down to the E. The soil color is light greenish grey. The soil compaction is firm. The soil is moderately sorted. It is clayey sand.
Notes:   15/4/16
We remove the clayey patch from the top of the baulk remaining between Broneer's eastern trench and the cutting excavated in the NE corner (cut 334). We keep a chunk of the greenish clay matrix. There is a relatively high concentration of pottery and a few bronze pieces. There is a piece of modern glass--this comes from the scarp left by Broneer rather than from the interior of the context--some modern contamination. This context may represent a very shallow pit cut into the surrounding red pebbly matrix--on its western margin, it slopes sharply downwards to the east, with the deepest part in the center.
