Stratum: | 5% small pebbles (both smooth and irregular), 2% small yellow clayey chunks and reddish brown crumply chunks, as well as a bit of carbon.
Description: | Top slope of the context is level. The soil color is light brownish brown. The soil compaction is soft. The soil is poorly sorted. It is sandy clay.
Notes: | This context was begun arbitrarily. At the top was a larger fragment of tile. Around it were revealed other large pieces of tile: two cover and two large pan tiles, and also a coin at 77.32. A large piece of very burnt wood also came from the upper part of this strech near the tiles. I believe this may be a pocket of building debris from the South Stoa. The re cover tiles are a bit dark from the soil like the best pottery. We find a coin at 4.29m/77.19 elevation. It is larger than most so far from the well. There is a lot of animal bone and metal compared to all other contexts taken from the well so far, and carbon flecks and small chunks are much less common. Six more large pieces of pan tile have come out. We find a coin below the pocket of tiles at 77.10. We are arbitrarily changing contexts to 63 now. At the bottom of this context we also found two -loomweights [MF-2015-16 and MF-2015-45].
