Stratum:   5% small-medium angular stone, 2% bone, flecks of carbon, a few pieces of yellowish clay as above.
Description:   Top slope of the context is even. The soil color is light brownish brown. The soil compaction is loose. The soil is poorly sorted. It is clayey sand.
Notes:   Characteristics: same as 67
This context was begun arbitrarily after ca. 25 cm of 67. A pocket of a darker soil with more carbon flecks than the rest. A large tc fragment of the stoa's roof line came out at 5.05m (el 76.33) near the darker soil. From the same level, a large rounded limestone (approx. 0.23 x 0.20 x 0.12m) chunk came out. It is the largest of the 15 stones removed from the well so far. The limestone is a whiteish yellow. The soil is a little softer as we go down but the inclusions are the same, so I believe it is the same context. There is some soil with small black carbon pieces attached to them, but this part of of the soil. None of the tiles themselves have any traces of burning. We are changing this context arbitrarily after 25 cm. There was more pottery in this context than the others so far.
NB. So far starting with context 6 we have removed directly from the well (and smaller fragments went to the sieve); 25 large pieces of yellow pan tile; 5 cover tiles. The tile will be weighed and counted by context.
Tiles (pan and cover): 17 = 20.80 kg
