Stratum:   10% charcoal, 5% large coarse pebble-sized bedrock chunks. 40% medium pebbles.
Description:   Top slope of the context is slight down to the N. The soil color is light brownish brown. The soil compaction is firm. The soil is poorly sorted. It is silty sand.
Notes:   Lighter and more clayey than 46.
This context was opened in order to cut back the soil into ____ which the foundation trench was cut to facilitate excavating 75. It is a more firm, silty sand that has a lot of charcoal in it. Taking out this context will enable the continuation of excavating a hard packed rock fill (75) within it. It is full of small-medium rocks, and some bedrock chunks. Any material collected from it belongs to that surface and should predate the fill of the foundation trench. This context will be excavated in the future.
