Description:		Top slope of the context is level. The soil color is light brownish brown. The soil compaction is compact. The soil is poorly sorted. It is silty sand.
Notes:		This context was opened to remove the remaining statumen layer beneath the mosaic and compacted soil that overlaid a drainage channel running N-S along the west side of the N--S wall (38). The channel was discovered during the removal of the statumen layer in the SW quadrant (79). Just beneath the statumen is a thin layer of soil, which together covers the hollow drainage channel, which contains loose soil (and possibly compact beneath it). Excavation will entail lifting the soil and cobble up and out to avoid soil falling into the channel - though contamination is inevitable, we would like to avoid it as much as possible. A coin was excavated at el. 81.51m. The rim and neck of a glass unguetarium was also unearthed. The amount of carbon in the soil greatly increased to the north in this context and was mostly found along the cut on the west side. Chunks were up to .02m and about 5% of inclusions. At the north end of the context, about .50m from the north edge of the N-S wall there is a wall of soil - the same light brownish brown compacted soil found in the rest of the context. There are a few cobbles stuck into the "well" as well. 24-05-15: The roof of the context has been removed at this point. The loose soil within the drainage channel will be removed in case of contamination. Beneath the loose soil is a slightly compacted light brownish brown soil intermixed with pebbles and some cobbles. The majority of the cobbles are at the southern end, where the soil is also more silty. Context 90 will be closed to excavate this soil as a new, uncontaminated context.
