Title:   Rocky Fill Abutting N Wall of Room 9
Category:   Deposit
Notebook:   1109
Context:   826
Date:   2015/06/03
Stratum:   Big inclusions, including boulders (max 34cm x 22cm). Bones, ceramics, tiles, cobbles. Sub-rounded and angular, one roughly hewn stone. Some clayey spots coming up.
Description:   The soil color is dark yellowish brown. The soil compaction is loose. The soil is moderately sorted. It is silty sand.
Notes:   Boulders - irregular, unworked, though some with flatish faces. This layer was cut by foundation trench of N wall (Wall 700/166).
Rocks doon't seem to be lying on a surface.
Stones in a line from N to S - two stones with measurements. But S one came out easily, not on a surface.
LN: Title - 826 does not actually abut N wall. At level of foundation trench, so most likely earlier.
Below boulders, at S - rubbly layer of tiles. Appears to extend under surface 829 to E.
11:55 - taking out tiles, bones in NW corner. Strip of compacted earth left to the W, probably same surface as big surface to E. [LN: AMS 25/6/15 - probably not].
Coin 468 - from sieve
Some larger-sized bones.
Reaching a layer of uneven broken tiles, stones. New layer nearly level with bottom of foundation trench of N wall.
Coins 469 - 472 - all from sieve.
