Description:   Single vertical rope channel (W00.035, Depth00.025) in one end; continuation missing or orientation not certain. End of block roughly chisel-dressed, slightly concave in plan. Upper, lower surfaces more smoothly finished. Face smooth for 0.11 from end, ending in a vertical line; remaining face roughly chiseled for thin layer of stucco (T00.002), small piece adhering. Some indication that stuccoed area bounded on top or bottom by another smoothly finished band, but face too poorly preserved for certainty.Upper surface slopes ca. 0.016 over L00.26, thus block from cornice course. As block slopes down at rt. angles to stuccoed face, that face = interior face of wall. Smooth portion of face prob. received timber - see A-1972-33).
