Decoration: | Exterior possibly finely slipped with pale greenish white slip (near 5Y 7/3); decoration in black: at bottom two broad black circumference bands framing metope-frieze-like panel with alternating black and reserved rectangles. Above this, animal frieze: lt. to rt., two avians or possibly sirens, directed rt.; of 1st half lower half of body, tail, legs; of second, chest with probable long locks of hair, legs; 3rd avian at rt. with extended wings and spread tail with incised detail. Material: | Fine gray-green clay with 2% or less tiny black inclusions, voids. Clay fired pale grayish pink at core. | |
