Description:   Lid for chafing dish, knob handle with biconical stem, flat top with ridge around edge.
Decoration:   Brown glaze on exterior. Short arrow-like incisions on top edge of knob and on lower end.
Material:   Reddish-yellow clay with rare small and medium rounded spherical white, red and gray inclusions. Few small subrounded spherical and angular platy voids.
Munsell Color:   5YR 7/8 (reddish yellow)
Condition:   Fragment. Single frgt., preserving complete knob, broken off from cover.
Period:   Middle Byzantine (802-1058 AD)
Chronology:   Middle to Late Byzantine
