Description:   Cup with vertical ring foot, sloping resting surface, flat undersurface, and convex walls. Similar to C-1934-1351.
Decoration:   White slip over all. Interior: brown slip, tondo with small formalized bird to right with dots in part of field; bird in outline, with partly unfolded solid wing; broad circumference band, and ring of dots. Light yellow glaze over all.
Material:   Moderately fine clay fired tan at core, pale pink at edges, with tiny rare black inclusions.
Munsell Color:   Core: 10YR 7/4
Condition:   Fragment. Single frgt., preserving 1/2 foot, floor, lower body.

Period:   Late Byzantine (1059-1210 AD)
Chronology:   at least Alexius I (1081-1118), based on context
