Description:   Bowl with heavy vertical ring foot, pierced for suspension, flat resting and undersurface, wide flaring body. Similar to C-1933-875 (Corinth 11).
Decoration:   White slip on interior, over which formalized bird in brown slip, to left, drawn in outlined; spiral spray in field. Yellow glaze all over.
Material:   Moderately fine light red-brown clay with frequent fine red, white, and black inclusions and rare fine angular voids.
Munsell Color:   5YR 6/5 (light red-brown)
Condition:   Fragment. Single frgt., preserving 1/2 foot, floor. Medallion bird preserved from head to start of wing.
Period:   Late Byzantine (1059-1210 AD)
Chronology:   at least Alexius I (1081-1118), based on context
