Description:   Bowl with slightly flaring ring foot, flat resting and undersurface. Similar to C-1934-827 (Corinth 11).
Decoration:   White slip on interior, over which formalized bird to right, head, neck, and wing outlined with hatching, body and legs solid; fringe of four long feather standing up from wing. Twllow glae over all, becoming brown on exterior.
Material:   Coarse red clay with rare fine white inclusions and sandy gray inclusions.
Munsell Color:   2.5YR 5/6 (light red)
Condition:   Fragment. Single frgt., preserving 1/2 foot, floor. Traces of dark green glaze.

Period:   Late Byzantine (1059-1210 AD)
Chronology:   at least Alexius I (1081-1118), based on context
