Description:   Bowl with low, vertical ring foot, flat resting and undersurface. Deep convex body. Similar to C- 1936-857.
Decoration:   In light slip, tondo with formalized bird to right, hatched wing. Borders of guilloche, simplified guilloche and concentric half circles. Green glaze on interior.
Material:   Coarse red clay with rare, medium, red and white inclusions with few fine voids.
Munsell Color:   7.5YR 6/6 (reddish yellow)
Condition:   Fragment. Two joining frgts., preserving about 1/2 foot, 1/8 body.
Period:   Byzantine
