Description:   Late Neolithic four-legged vessel. Black burnished ware. Leg ovoid in lower section, flat at rear, convex at front, rising to shallow articulating groove in front at juncture to body, while rear of leg curves through a 90 degree angle into bottom of belly of vessel. At front, body flares quickly to flattened lip of oblique mouth. Inside, smoothed and slightly burnished, with a thumb-sized, partially smoothed depression in top of leg. Outside, lustre-burnished overall, with burnishing marks visible, but worn dull along aroughly vertical band towards outer-right front of leg.
Decoration:   Incised decoration on front of leg: festooned bands of cross-hatching, outlined. One band runs on a diagonal along uppermost part of leg; second bellies downward below first, and two more belly off to right from the latter. At articulation of leg a row of short, roughly perpendicular strokes. No paint or filling visible.
Material:   Fine fabric, common small angular black and white inclusions; rare large angular inclusions. Fired fairly dense and hard, mostly evenly dull tannish-gray going to thin blackish surface layers; surfaces mottled in firing.
Munsell Color:   Core: 10TY 6/2; Surface: 10YR 5/2 to N3.
Condition:   Fragment. Single frgt., preserving leg and rim; broken at foot and all around at top. Retains short segment of bowl/rim.
