Description:   ESB dish with very low, narrow ring foot, separated from exterior vessel wall by single groove. Low, slightly outward sloping wall. Single groove on interior wall where wall meets floor. Single groove on interior below flaring, nearly horizontal ledge, rim. ESB2. Hayes form 61 (Hayes 1986, pp. 64-65, Tavola XIV, 9).
Decoration:   Applied spiral decoration on upper side of rim. Rim with diagonal hatching and groove on upper face. Lustrous red slip on interior and exterior.
Material:   Hard, fine, very clean, micaceous red to reddish yellow clay with frequent mica inclusions and granular breaks.
Munsell Color:   Fabric: 2.5YR 5/8 (red) to 5YR 6/6 (reddish yellow); Surface (slip): 2.5YR 4/8 (red)
Condition:   Fragment. Single frgt., preserving profile, with complete profile of foot, wall, and rim. Break at join between interior wall and foot. One-third of spiral decoration applied to rim broken. Some accretion on surface.
