Description:   Bowl with low flaring ring foot, flat resting surface and undersurface, broad and shallow convex body, thick walls, vertical rim and broad flaring lip (C 1937 1375B).
Decoration:   White slip on interior. Large bird on floor to rt., long striped neck and outline of body; floral spray in field. Wide band on upper body below rim, filler spiral design (see C-1937-1375B). Unglazed (waster). Similar to C-1936-488 (Morgan 1942, Corinth 11, cat. 608)
Material:   Red clay with few small to large rounded spherical and subrounded tabular red and gray inclusions. Frequent small rounded spherical voids.
Munsell Color:   5 YR 5/8 (yellowish red)
Condition:   Fragment. Single frgt., preserving approx. 1/4 of foot and body (below rim).
Period:   Late Byzantine (1059-1210 AD)
