Description:   Bowl with low flaring ring foot, flat resting surface, flat undersurface. Deep body with constricted convex profile, oblique tapered lip.
Decoration:   White slip inside and out, largely worn away on exterior. On interior, sgraffito bird facing right, head erect. head and breast covered with scribbled scales, with circle for eye, triangular beak; furled wing with long parallel lines for feathers, short legs. To rt. and below in field, filling ornament consisting of two groups of straight lines joined by double volutes. Border on upper body of scribbled spirals and wavy line. Pale yellow glaze inside and over lip.
Material:   Fine orange clay with rare white inclusions.
Munsell Color:   5YR 5/6 to 5YR 5/7
Condition:   Complete profile. Five joining frgts., ca. 1/2 foot and floor, 1/4 body to lip.
