Description: | Bowl with low vertical ring foot, narrow flat resting surface, flat undersurface. Deep convex body, oblique outturned rim with squared lip. | |
Decoration: | White slip on interior, over which brown painted decoration: whirligig of long oval petals, surrounded by partial ring of even longer petals forming a kind of wreath. On rim, band of short round petals, placed at slant, in groups of at least 7, between brown framing lines. Clear glaze over slip and overlapping rim. | |
Material: | Fine hard clay fired brown at surface, tan to red at core, with abundant tiny red, sparkling inclusions, rare white. | |
