Description:   Kotyle with flaring ring foot, flat undersurface, steep body wall with nearly straight proile to maximum diameter at or just below fine lip. 2 horizontal bell handles below lip.
Decoration:   Black figure style. Foot red inside and out, reserved on resting surface. Undersurface: glaze bands, heavy at outer circumference, 1 thin and 2 central ones with dot. Rays on lower half of body with broad glaze and covering part. Ground line, animal frieze: on both faces 2 sphinxes to right, 1 to left, summarily drawn with wings spread. Incised detail. Worm-like filling ornament. Red line on lip. Tips of handle glazed. Interior glazed. D.A.Amyx: by Verimcular Painter, Lcor (= Benson: Quarter Moon Painter)
Material:   Hard, pinkish buff clay. Black paint.

Condition:   Complete profile. Many joining frgts., preserving complete profile, 1 1/2 handles, missing small parts of body and lip.
