Description: | Cyma kantharos with stem foot, flat resting surface and conical undersurface, with molded exterior in two degrees; narrow, high lower with very short, straight sloping side ending in square edge, upper a high, beveled step articulated from lower by a a thick groove. High cylindrical stem articulated from foot by an angle. Wide body with almost globular lower and upper with a vertical profile, with a small everted tapered lip. Two vertical strap handles with rectangular thumb rest attaching to just below lip and upper body. | |
Decoration: | West Slope style with a horizontal groove at upper handle attachment level. Trace of black glaze all over. Trace of necklace motif in fugitive white paint. | |
Material: | Fine very pale brown clay with rare fine black and sparkling inclusions. | |
