Description: | Cyma kantharos with stem foot, flat resting surface and conical undersurface, with molded exterior in two degrees; wide lower with straight sloping sides ending in beveled edge, upper a high, narrow ring around the stem. Medium-high conical stem attached to foot by curve. Medium-wide body with round and convex lower and slightly concave upper, flaring out to a wide, tapered lip. Vertical strap handle with rectangular thumb rest attaching to just below lip and upper body. | |
Decoration: | West Slope style with two sets of horizontal groove bands, a double below lower and a single below upper handle attachments. Inscribed string of necklace with ribbon dangling from ends on both sides. Black glaze all over. Traces of added white paint decorating beads of necklaces. | |
Material: | Fine pink clay with rare fine to small black, white, and sparkling inclusions. | |
