Description:   Cyma kantharos with stem foot, flat resting surface and convex undersurface, with moulded exterior in two degrees; high, wide lower with convex side ending in beveled edge, upper high ridge with pointed profile articulated from lower by shallow groove. Very short convex stem connected to foot by angle. Tall body with convex lower and slightly concave upper, flaring out to everted tapered lip. Two vertical strap handles with rectangular thumb rest attaching to just below lip and upper body.
Decoration:   West Slope style with one horizontal groove band just above lower handle attachment level. Inscribed string of necklace motif on both sides. Black glaze all over. Beads of necklace on both sides with added white paint, with ribbon draping from both ends of string.
Writing:   inscribed. Above groove band, just below lip. DIONYSOY
Material:   Fine yellow clay with rare fine black and sparkling inclusions.
Munsell Color:   10YR 8/6 (yellow)
Condition:   Complete profile. Numerous joining frgts., preserving foot, stem, most of body, all of lip except for chip, both handles. Black glaze and white paint well preserved.
