Description:   Ring foot as low, slightly contracting-to-bowl pedestal, bearing surface outward thickened and grooves. Flat plastic fillet at joint of pedestal with bowl body, then narrow reserved line, wide globular body rising to almost vertical rim. Inside: medallion on floor of bowl within sunken floor. Body rises in unbroken curve to lip. Horizontal handles at right angle from body, sharply right angled at outward limits, making handles rectangular in plan.
Decoration:   Naked, perplexed satyr standing with outstretched proper left leg, bent right; proper left arm raised upward, open handed. Profile head to proper left. To proper left of satyr and behind left leg of satyr, dreamy-eyed seated maiden, draped from below navel down-pattern. Bare breasted with crossed cord over crest, added white dot necklace. Face in profile facing proper right, wearing pyramidal earrings and headband. Proper left arm bent across stomach; right bent upward, with cord or string in hand; left wears bracelet. Meander around medallion well executed, use of relief contour. Rim decorated with added white ivy tendtrils, leaves in clay paint; ivy flower of dots in white paint.
Material:   Good pinkish tan clay, low-lustre black glaze, added white and added clay glaze.
Condition:   Fragment. 6 unjoining frgms, making up half of foot, 3/4 medalion, over 1/2 rim, 1 & 1/2 handles. RIP: 2 small ring foot frgms, unjoining; 1 3-piece rim frgm wtih ivy pattern; 1 handle frgm; 1 ring foot & medallion frgm of 7 pieces; 1 body & rim frgm of 13 pieces.
Dimensions Restored:   H. 0.051 m.; D. of rim, 0.082 m.; D. of base, 0.042 m.
