Description:   Amphora with a round bottom with a circular groove at the center of base. Ovoid body with maximum diameter at shoulder. Shoulder tapers sharply to a round narrow neck with a squared outturned lip. Two oval vertical handles attached at shoulder and below rim. Neck warped during firing so that it is off center; rim badly misshapen and vitrified in the kiln. Similar to C 77-233.
Material:   Coarse yellow clay with rare very large tabular angular gray and red-brown stone inclusions, rare medium angular and platy rounded orange and brown inclusions and rare small to large voids
Munsell Color:   Core 2.5YR 8/3 (pale yellow)
Condition:   Complete profile. More than thirty joining fragments preserve all of base, nine-tenths of body and one-tenth of rim. Some non-joining fragments in the lot. Surface and fabric darkened at top of shoulder, neck and rim during firing.
