Description: | Ring-based krater (FS 281 [Rutter] or FS 282 [MDP]). Large ring base, deep closing semi-globular body with thick, sharply outturned rim with flattened top; two large horizontal round handles set just above belly. | |
Decoration: | Exterior slipped and polished. Painted band at base, three painted bands at belly, above which is the decorative zone with a running spiral (FM 46) with attached trefoil rockwork fill. Above zone is painted band immediately below the rim, which is also painted. Three splashes on handles. Mono in with reserved circle at center. Rim painted, band below rim, three hbands below one, band at abse; three splashed on handle. Light-colored blobs on and around the spiral to the immediate left of the handle are accidental drips of paint. | |
