Description:   Lamp with flat bottom surrounded by groove, echinoid body, sloping rim, concave disk with central fill hole, air hole at edge of disk, U-shaped nozzle with flat panel around small fill hole; pierced lug handle.
Decoration:   Rim: plain except for 2 panels; disk: in relief: scene of nude male disrobing partly draped female:nude male standing at rt., bending slightly to rt. from waist with head tilted back, weight on lt. leg,rt. extended, lt. hand raised to head, rt. extended, long pointed beard, incised anatomy; pulls at mantle of woman, half-crouching at lt., facing rt. Hair tied up in a knot, arms extended, mantle draped from lt. shoulder, covers part of back, legs, restbare. Both stand on a ground line. Handle: 2 grooves to base.
Writing:   inscribed. Inscribed on bottom, Greek: KARPOU

Material:   Fine buff clay with rare white, red inclusions.
Munsell Color:   Slightly pinker than 10YR 7/5
Condition:   Complete profile. Ten joining frgts., preserving complete except for small part of rim on right side, disk at right edge and near air hole; several holes in body. Burning on nozzle.
