Description:   Lamp with concave bottom, deep flaring body, pronounced mould joint, broad sloping rim, shallow concave disk offset by 2 grooves, two fill holes on axis of lamp, wick hole impinges on disk. Solid lug handle. Identical to L-XXXX-2654, except that fill holes slightly further apart, representation worn.
Decoration:   Rim: row of ovules framing disk, 2 panels; disk: gladiatorial combat: at lt., retiarius standing in profile to rt., hunched over, rt. hand holding sword ? down; at rt. secutor facing lt., holding shield over lt. arm, rt. arm drawn back with sword ? Both standing on ground line.
Material:   Fine off-white clay with occasional sparkling inclusions.
Munsell Color:   10YR 8/2.5
Condition:   Complete profile. Two joining frgts., complete except for end of nozzle, hole in body near handle; part of handle broken away; burning around nozzle and over break.
