| Description: | Terracotta hollow backed mouldmade seated female with high flaring polos with convex top, short curls marked by short vertical lines frame forehead, long hair with horizontal lines flows to shoulders, wide triangular face, slightly peaked hair line, curved brow ridge, prominent nose with large nostrils, thin upper lip, square jaw, short wide neck, wide shoulders tapering in straight line to hips and to ankles, rt arm tight against side, bent at elbow with forearm diagonal across belly, rt hand with thumb defined holds bird (small head, short neck, and small round body with long tapering tail), lt arm held tightly against body with lt hand resting on knee, long thumb retouched flat lap, straight vertical lower legs, and feet rest flat on foot rest. Wears form-fitting peplos with rounded neckline neck with two incised lines following curve at neck and just above hem at ankles, and incised vertical lines at lt shoulder shows edge of garment. Sits on squared throne with top of back projecting square protrusions on each side, flat seat and sides projecting past body. Similar to KT7-24 and KT7-29 (Stillwell 1952, Corinth 15.2, Class XI cat. 8) in pose. | |
