Description:   Female figurine wearing a tall polos, hair worn long with locks framing forehead and falling onto the shoulders; two slanted notches on either side of forehead and row of horizontal bars on either side of neck representing locks of hair; narrow, long oval face with protruding oval eyes and pronounced chin. Similar to KT-9-58 (Corinth XV.2, p.78, class VIII, no. 53, pl. 12).
Decoration:   Black and red painted decoration. Front of polos decorated with black palmettes (only one of which is clearly painted) with their stems connected by wavy line; palmettes framed on either side by curved lines; teardrop-shaped red dots between palmette motifs; wavy line separates polos from hair. Hair painted black except for locks on side of neck which are rendered in relief and were missed by painted line. More thinly applied black paint details the eyebrows and outline of eyes. Remains of black paint on the break where nose and mouth belong. Black paint all over back of polos. Black and red paint also on figurine KT-9-58 (Corinth XV, p.78, class VIII no. 53, pl. 12).
Material:   Fine pink clay with rare medium red and brown inclusions, rare medium sparkling inclusions, and rare medium rounded voids.
Munsell Color:   7.5 YR 8/3 (pink)
Condition:   Fragment. Single piece preserving head and polos; nose and mouth broken off; back of polos preserved but back of head broken off. Black and red paint well preserved.
