Description:   Terracotta hollowback mouldmade figurine of Silenus wearing a bunched headdress resting on his forehead, drooping down towrds the rt. shoulder. Oval head, bald, large wide pointed ears, rt. eye deep set, higher than lt. eye, lt. eye elongated less deeply moulded (poss.intentionally deformed), both lids defined, short wide nose, long mustache tilted downward to the lt and droops over thin upper lip, large lower lip. A full beard frames face from ear to ear, long vertical curls deliniated by tooling radiate downward, two large curls form an inverted V below mouth. Rt. arm begins to extend outward, lines radiate from armpit defining rt. arm and pectoral, soft fleshy pectoral muscles moulded above a swollen bulging belly with a down turned depressed belly button. A himation wraps around hips, lt side drapes over and then under rt and begins to flow downward. folds form a wide V just to the rt. of belly button. Tooling on himation folds and beard. Body and drapery similar to MF-13470 and head similar to but more detailed than KT22-10.
Decoration:   White slip on drapery, beard, face, and body.

Material:   Fine yellow clay with rare small platy rounded white, rare very large tabular rounded mudstone, and rare fine sparkling inclusions and few small to large spherical rounded voids

Condition:   Fragment. Single frgt., preserving head to hips and part of right arm, broken along sides. Traces of white slip throughout piece.
