Description:   Under life-size head of Dionysos, turned sharply to proper lt. and back. Wears wreath of grape leaves and round grapes; leaves deeply undercut with drill; supported by struts over crown. Hair parted in center with short curling tufts framing part; rest arranged in medium-length corkscrew curls framing face and neck, twists deeply drilled, tips drilled, and locks separated by drill; crown roughly facetted with flat chisel. Face oval, widest at cheeks, narrow forehead sloping out toward brow; brows project strongly above outer corners of eyes; eyebrow underlined by groove. Eyes set just beneath brow, upper lid overlapping lower. Rounded cheeks, nose breaks slightly at bridge, nostrils drilled. Small bow-shaped mouth with edge of teeth shown behind lips, parted by drill channel; tiny hole at each corner. Narrow chin. Fleshy neck with 2 softly modeled folds. Start of bust; ends in a tapering tenon, sides trimmed with claw, point on bottom. Skin parts polished.
