Description:   Under life-sized figure of standing, semi-nude female. Rt. leg weight-bearing but slightly bent at knee, left leg bent more emphatically with foot back. Torso leans forward with rt. shoulder lower and more forward than lt. Right arm at side; traces of left arm suggest that it lay close to the side and angled to front. Traces of neck indicate that head was probably turned to proper lt. A single wavy lock falls over each shoulder. Legs covered with drapery that leaves part of buttocks bare. It is gathered over pubic area and held by a scallop shell, now heavily damaged. The edges of the drapery on proper rt. side fall in bunched, deeply cut vertical folds over right leg to ankles; folds on left side are "blown" out to side, exposing lower left leg. Remaining folds radiate from shell and continue around to back. A hole D. 0.05 m. passes through shell and torso, for water. Drapery and flesh polished.
Material:   Medium-crystalled grayish marble.
Condition:   Missing parts. Complete from neck to ankles. Missing: right arm from below shoulder, lt. arm at shoulder; right breast underside of lt. breast damaged; upper part of rt. shoulder and drapery around buttocks damaged. 2015/03/23: small support added at base to stabilize.
