Description:   Standing male figure, weight on l. leg, r. leg bent and set slightly to side, r. knee protrudesthrough himation, perhaps originally a vertical support at l. side; r. arm bent across chest, l. hand on hip. Wears tunic, visible at neck; over it, Greek himation wrapped closely around both shoulders, arms, r. hand holding border; folds of drapery cross body horizontally at waist level; long diagonal folds from l. hip to r. ankle; looping folds of drapery hang from bent l. arm. Drill work in folds; rasp marks on drapery, especially in back. Position and dress same as Aischines in Naples, nearly same as Lateran Sophokles, uncommon in Roman portrait statues.
Material:   Fine-crystalled white marble with a little mica.
Condition:   Missing parts. Complete from shoulders to lower legs. Lacks head (inserted), fingers of r. hand, both feet; drapery hem chipped on l. side.
