Description:   Marble male portrait body of draped left side of frontally-posed, standing figure wearing chlamys and tunic; extremely narrow profile and back, almost completely flat; left arm slightly bent forward; two small drill (?) holes on side of forearm; drapery over front of body forms repetitive pattern of catenary folds; left arm gathers up fabric, forming close tubular folds along arm; few widely-spaced catenaries on back. Running drill used for deeper folds and some shallowly drilled channels; flat chisel for some shallow folds across front and for rough finish on back. Probably Late Antique imperial official.
Material:   White marble with micaceous veining.
Condition:   Fragment. Left half of figure preserved from neck to knee; right half of figure missing; left hand broken; surface very badly weathered and stained.
