Description:   This mounding consists of top and side surfaces smoothed, with egg an ddart moulding below.. The side surface above the moulding has been picked away leaving a smooth band ca 0.020 m along the top edge. The top edge was similarly treated. On top, it is clear that there was a higher level, ca 0.045 m. from the edge, now broken away. This piece cannot be from a balustrade, but perhaps could be from a statue base or from an entablature.

Findspot Description:   From Sacred Spring marble pile; 1968. First stored outside Archaeological Service office, Museum inner courtyard. In spring 2007 moved to Pietri, west side, outside storeroom 8.
