Description: | Base is flat with a low ring foot which extends to the handle. Flaring sides, and wide flat rim. Discus is slightly concave. Fin-like handle is unpierced. Broneer Type XXXI lamp. Similar in size and shape to L-69-25 and L-925. Same shape, but smaller than, L-4069, L-69-146, L-70-13, and L-72-6. | |
Decoration: | Around rim, pattern of circles with alternating diamonds and crosses within them. Within discus, representation of the Sacrifice of Isaac: in center, Abraham stands, facing to the right with knife held aloft in right hand. His left hand rests upon the head of Isaac, above which is a palm branch. Behind Abraham, a ram faces left with head turned back. Above the ram, the hand of God points from heaven. Small circle inscribed in bottom of base. Similar to L-925, L-4069, L-69-25, L-69-146, L-70-13, and L-72-6. | |

Condition: | Complete profile. Two joining fragments preserve nearly entirely lamp, including most of body, rim, and nozzle, and all of handle and base. Part of rim and body near nozzle is missing. Discoloration around nozzle, indicative of burning. Unglazed. | |
