Description:   2 listings in Zygouries: Fig 87 = EH bowl; Pl XV = Ephyrean Goblet. First option favored for this entry since there is a long description and drawing with number in lower corner. If this is correct, then the EH bowl is Class B II (Glazed, completely coated ware) according to Blegen (Zygouries). Description for bowl with spout: This is a capacious circular bowl. The body raises in a slightly swelling curve from the base to a distinctly angular shoulder, then continues in another curve to the neck, where it terminates in a flat broad rim splaying outward at a sharp angle. Two thick horizontal loop handles are set opposite each other at the angle of the body, and roughly in the axis perpendicular to them there is a relatively small, but broadly flaring spout, bridged by the rim.
Decoration:   Just below the rim and diametrically opposite the spout on the exterior face of the upper zone an applied strip of clay formed a simple decoration; part of it is now missing, but the traces of the original attachment are clear. It was merely a sharply curved line the two ends of which were extended in a sweeping curve to right and left. Resulting in an ornament very similar to that on the interior of the neck of the spouted jug described above (Z238), though here turned the other way up. There are no rivet heads. Surface was finished smoothly and covered with red paint, still lustrous
Material:   Brick-red clay, gray at core
Condition:   Fragment. Missing base, much of lower part, one handle, part of a second handle, and tips of the spout; all RIP
