On the top, within glazed bands, outside, black chevron band; at the center, female head, left, her hair bound in a patterned kerchief, but with a few locks straggling across her face. The metal ring handle (missing) would have served as her earring. The glaze background not fully filled in over her nose. On either side, just below the rim, a vertical loop handle, very small, and rather carelessly made and smeared on. Two pairs of concentric grooves around a central circle, on the floor; a groove also at the edge of the base. Glazed over all with dilute glaze wash which has fired a light orange; a few streaks of black underneath. Added clay for the berries of the thyrsos; white with pink over for the ivy leaves.
