Dumped filling in an unfinished well originally dug only to a depth of 5.50m. Probably a post-Persian cleanup, perhaps in one of the public buildings near the SW corner of the square ... Ca. 520-490 B.C ... only to a depth of 5 |
Cistern at 79/Γ (= 80/Δ) on lower north slope of the Areopagus. Filling of 2nd c. B.C. with some later intrusions (Turkish pottery indicates disturbance).
