[Corinth Object] MF 2004 17: GLASS BOTTLE

Glass bottle with deep rounded kick, tall, narrow, cylindrical body tapers in to neck. Egg-shell thin walls. Similar to MF 7294 (Corinth XII, p. 116, no. 764, fig. 14). Body rippled throughout. Clear ... MF 7294 is dated to 11-12th c. A.C. in Corinth XII, but Nancy Bookidis wonders if it is possibly Turkish. T. Antonaras dates it from 14th-17th c. A.C., towards the end of the period, 16th-17th c. A.C ... MF 7294 (Corinth XII, p. 116, no. 764, fig. 14).

The handle preserved entire, with part of the body in plain glass at the lower attachment. The handle is vertical, with a double fold at the top, and has two grooves. It is made of opaque dark blue glass ... 2 April 1937 ... Study Collections-Case No. 20-Γ
