Inscribed altar. Both sides and bottom preserved and part of top. It has the rolled edge preserved on the left side. On the right the top of the stone has been cut off. Reused as millstone (or as olive press weight, see Expedition 21), but in excellent preservation. On top, mason's mark, the letters: Σ Δ. On either side at bottom a dowel cutting and pry cutting. The upper part of a mold for a bearded figure with mask-like head, wearing a speckled garment (Papposilenus). He is bending forward and clasping some object (wine-skin ?). Careful work.
