Found largely complete, but very much bent and chipped.
An oval shield with a narrow rim ornamented with a fine multiple guilloche pattern repousse.

Two fair sized rim fragments and many similar pieces.
Rim has turned back edge, ca. 0.02 wide, and is decorated witih guilloche pattern.
Possibly a pattern on turned backed edge.

Shallow scoop to indicate nail; broken at other end. Against south Peribolos wall of 12 gods.

About the three exposed sides a band was left undressed around the bottom, and this projects ca. 0.025m. beyond the finished face above. This upper face would seem originally to ... Ca. 485 B.C. |
